(Let's try to be honest with ourselves!!!)
Everyone who is attacking Mitt Romney needs to actually look at the facts. You all seem to say that his message doesn't sell well. Guess what: he has the most votes of any Republican candidate from caucus-goers or primary voters. That must mean that the current plurality of Republican/conservative voting Americans support his message.
This is a nominating process. Conservatives will have the final say. If there is no clear front-runner and no one has enough delegates to get the nomination, that means that the conservatives at the Republican convention will nominate a candidate. I hate to break it to most McCain supporters. There are not enough hard-core conservative Republicans who support him!
Huckabee has no chance, because he has alienated the fiscal conservatives, who have money. Moreover, Huckabee has a enlisted a dubious Democratic tactic--class warfare. Why in the world is Mitt Romney's money an issue for some of you? Why would you discount someone because they spent their time in the private sector instead of 30 years in Washington and over 10 years in state government?
Mitt Romney earned his fortune by hard work. He would certainly be the best candidate to reform government by making it smaller and more efficient. That's what he did as a career. He made businesses more efficient and smaller. He will also know the way to stimulate the economy. Too many conservatives look past the fact that the economy is the most important issue for conservatives. If the issue becomes Iraq, Republicans will lose! It is the ECONOMY stupid!!! We need someone who can reform government and get this economy back on track. The only candidate to already have experience in this arena is MITT ROMNEY--not John McCain or Mike Huckabee.
Conservatives need to pull it together and recognize that our best chance to win in November will not be on the back of a snide, 72-year-old man, and it will not be from the pulpit. We need someone who can unite the conservatives and win among independents. Mitt Romney proved that last night. He did just as well as John McCain among independent voters. Let us not forget that John McCain won NH last time (2000) with around 60% of the vote. Last night was a loss for John McCain. He lost 20% of the vote from 2000. That is a loss, not losing by 5%!
GO MITT ROMNEY!!!!
